The slipped buntline hitch is somewhat more difficult to tie than the buntline hitch, but it’s worth learning because it unties easily.
A. To cast this knot, prepare an overhand loop, holding it in place with your thumb and forefinger as described for the buntline hitch.


B. Bring the bitter end around the loop’s right leg and back under the working part.
C. & D. Tighten the knot by pulling the two loops while holding the working part.
