Jeffrey Hoedt

Jeffrey HoedtJeffrey N. Hoedt, who’ll discuss The U.S. Coast Guard’s Strategic Plan for Safety and Maritime Security from 1000 to 1030 on Thursday, 6 Sept., is chief of the Coast Guard Office of Boating Safety, which works to improve recreational boating safety in the U.S.

Hoedt previously served as chief of the Office of Boating Safety’s Program Management Division and as executive director of the National Boating Safety Advisory Council.

He began his professional boating career in 1979 as an Ohio watercraft officer. He also has served as assistant chief of the State Affairs Branch at Coast Guard headquarters and boating law administrator for Ohio and Idaho.

Thom Dammrich

Thom DammrichNMMA President Thom Dammrich will share the Latest Update from the National Marine Manufacturers Association on Thursday, 6 Sept., from 1030 to 1100.

NMMA is dedicated to helping its members achieve financial success through excellence in manufacturing, selling and servicing customers. Its activities include identifying new markets, raising industry standards and advocating on public policy issues that affect boating and the boating industry.

Clint Moore

Clint MooreClint Moore, president and CEO of Volvo Penta of the Americas Inc., will deliver the Latest Updates from the Boating Industry, on Thursday, 6 Sept., from 1100 to 1130.

Based in Chesapeake, Va., Volvo Penta is a leading manufacturer of marine power systems for pleasure boats as well as commercial craft.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the leisure marine industry, Moore has served as Mercury Marine’s vice president of sales and marketing for North America, president of Genmar Holdings’ Glastron and Larson boat brands, and president of Bassett Boat Co.

Jake Hill

Jake Hill is the director of sales and marketing for McGriff, Seibels & Williams Inc., which has administered the United States Power Squadrons Boat Insurance Program since 1988. He will discuss the USPS Boat Insurance Program on Thursday, 6 Sept., from 1500 to 1600, along with Rick Salway and Joe Grenzebach of The Travelers Companies.

Rick Salway and Joe Grenzebach

Rick Salway and Joe Grenzebach of The Travelers Companies Inc. will join Jake Hill of McGriff, Seibels & Williams to discuss the USPS Boat Insurance Program on Thursday, 6 Sept., from 1500 to 1600. In business for more than 160 years, Travelers has provided coverage for the USPS Boat Insurance Program since 1988.

Peter Trogdon

Peter TrogdonPeter Trogdon, president and owner of Weems & Plath—a maker of precision marine instruments—will speak on Navigation Tools Past, Present and Future from 1000 to 1045 on Friday, 7 Sept.

Trogdon assumed management of Weems & Plath in 1995 and bought the company two years later. Before that, he worked at other marine companies, including a 10-year stint at the transportation services company Crowley Maritime Corp., where he managed services in Alaska.
An avid sailor and power boater, Trogdon has boated on the Panama Canal, the European coast and in the Caribbean. He recently purchased Bee Weems, a 36-foot cruising powerboat.

Raphael Kozolchyk

Raphael KozolchykRaphael Kozolchyk serves as federal government affairs manager for the Personal Watercraft Industry Association. He will deliver his presentation, Standing Shoulder to Shoulder: How the PWC Industry is a Leader in Promoting Boating Safety, from 1100 to 1145 on Friday, 7 Sept.

Before working for the association, Kozolchyk clerked for a senior U.S. appellate judge on the 3rd Circuit.

Besides advocating for nonprofits before the federal government, he has worked for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, the personal staff of an Appropriations Chairman and the personal office and presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain.
